Boucle de la Prohibition
Presentation
A major gourmet cycling tour that’s also accessible from Montreal, this extensive loop will introduce you to the wide variety of landscapes in southern Montérégie as well as the richness of its local terroirs. The trails and roads along this route take food-loving cyclists right past vineyards and cideries, country restaurants, and agritourism farms, with suggestions for unique and welcoming accommodations. You’ll ride along the banks of the Richelieu River, the foothills of the Adirondacks, the Châteauguay valleys, the fields of Quebec’s “pantry,” and the banks of the St. Lawrence River.
This route, which runs along designated bike paths and roads, is suitable for recreational and intermediate cyclists. The Covey Hill section, which features a significant elevation gain of 200 meters, can be bypassed via an alternative bike path. The route also includes two gravel sections.
