Who are we?
Quebec by Bike is a collaborative project involving 12 regional tourism associations, the Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance, and the Quebec Cycling Network Association.
The project is led by Vélo Québec, a non-profit organization founded in 1967 whose mission is to promote cycling for everyone, everywhere in Quebec, whether for transportation, recreation, or tourism.
The project was born out of a consultation and collaboration process involving more than 240 organizations in the tourism industry, during which the need was identified to provide Quebec with a centralized platform and showcase for all of the province's cycling offerings.
Québec à vélo has three main objectives:
- To provide visitors to Quebec with the tools they need to better plan their cycling excursions and trips;
- To showcase regions and destinations in order to promote their cycling offerings and attractions. In other words, to promote cycling and "post-cycling" activities;
- Harmonize the promotion of cycling activities in Quebec to further enhance the Quebec tourism industry.
This project is part of a broader strategy to develop cycling tourism, which is embodied in a Roadmap for the Development of Cycling Tourism in Quebec 2025-2030.
