Presentation
Inaugurated in 1957, the Saint-Michel Basilica-Cathedral proudly overlooks the city of Sherbrooke. Inspired by Gothic architecture, the building is characterized by its majestic arches and pointed windows. The Cathedral Basilica is dedicated to Archangel Michael, patron saint of police officers and soldiers. Many works can be admired, including the magnificent stained-glass windows of the nave and the choir. The visit includes access to the Blessed Marie-Léonie Paradis shrine and her museum. The crypt, which houses the remains of several bishops, priests and laypeople, can also be visited. The archbishop chapel, painted by the Ozias Leduc is closed this summer due to sanitary measures.
