De Brossart à Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

Easy

From Montreal's South Shore to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu via Chambly, cross the metropolitan region's green belt on dedicated, fast and safe bike paths. Take time to visit one of the many microbreweries along the way, or take in the heritage sites.

Only on dedicated bike paths, with very little gradient. The Chambly Canal segment is made of rock dust.

Part of the Vallée des Forts runs along Route Verte no. 2 from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to Lacolle. Cyclists can take advantage of this segment of the Route du Richelieu to discover the flavours of Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu's organic farms and vineyards, or to visit remarkable heritage sites.

With Covey Hill topping off this stage, the route takes you through rolling countryside and the best vineyards and cideries in the Adirondack foothills. Cyclists brave enough to climb Covey Hill will have the chance to see the great valley of the Châteauguay River and its many tributaries, which irrigate the great gardens of the Garde-Manger du Québec!

De Saint-Constant à Brossart

Hard

The trails and roads on this stage cross the fields of the Garde-Manger du Québec. Cyclists descend the Châteauguay to return to the South Shore via Le Pré Ferré.
From the Récréoparc on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, cyclists can return to Brossard via La Riveraine, or head for Montreal via the Voie Maritime and Estacade trails.
