Bienvenue Cyclistes! : a network of tourist establishments tailored to cyclists
When traveling by bike, our needs are different from those of other tourists. We sometimes arrive wet from the rain, covered in dust, or simply tired, looking for a comforting meal, a good shower, or a place to rest.
Fortunately, no matter what type of cycling you do—touring, road, mountain, gravel, or fatbike—more than 400 tourist establishments certified as Bienvenue cyclistes! by Vélo Québec are committed to giving you a warm welcome and making your cycling trip easier!
A network of cycling stops across Quebec
For over 20 years, Vélo Québec has been encouraging tourist establishments to offer cyclists a quality welcome. The Bienvenue cyclistes! network is now the only structured bicycle welcome network covering all of Quebec, from major centers to more remote regions.
It includes:
- bed and breakfasts, inns, and hotels for comfortable overnight stays;
- campgrounds, for sleeping under the stars;
- tourist attractions, for a gourmet or cultural break;
- restaurants and food services, to recharge your batteries;
- bike rental companies, for borrowing a bike;
- repair shops, to fix any mechanical problems along the way.
Essential services designed for cyclists
All establishments certified as Cyclist Friendly! are committed to offering a minimum of essential services so that you can continue your ride or journey with peace of mind.
- Drinking water and accessible restrooms
- An electrical outlet to recharge devices (bike battery, GPS, cell phone, lights)
- A first aid kit
- A pump and tools for minor repairs
- A suitable and secure bike parking area
- Clear information on nearby bike paths and services
In other words, when you arrive at a certified establishment, you feel (almost!) at home—even if you're just passing through!
