Presentation
This belvedere highlights a landscape revealing the history of the town of Thetford Mines. The entire industrial heritage is revealed at a glance: mining tailings piles, underground mine headframe, other old buildings used to process ore and an open-air quarry filled with turquoise water. Interpretive panels also present the Mitchell district and its builders from the English-speaking community, as well as the old Saint-Maurice district, which had to be moved to encourage the expansion of mining operations. This observation platform lets all types of clients discover the mining panorama since it meets the criteria of universal accessibility.
