Le Saint-Laurent et les canaux

Between Cornwall and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, the route offers magnificent river and rural landscapes of the Suroît. Cyclists can enjoy the beaches of Saint-Zotique, the banks of the Soulanges Canal at Les Coteaux and views of Lake Saint-François, punctuated by the charm of historic downtown Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

From Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, this loop leads to Beauharnois along the canal, one of the country's greatest engineering works. Cyclists can admire the Beauharnois hydroelectric dam and discover its interpretation center, for a day trip combining river scenery and industrial heritage.

The route is on cycle paths and quiet roads, with a very moderate gradient.

This stage links Salaberry-de-Valleyfield to Montreal via Pointe-des-Cascades and Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue. The route combines picturesque riverbanks, green spaces and urban neighborhoods like Griffintown, where industrial heritage and art meet, offering cyclists nature, history and a city atmosphere.

This section connects Griffintown to Boucherville via the Samuel de Champlain Bridge, offering a harmonious transition from Montreal's urban landscape to the green spaces of the Montérégie region. Cyclists enjoy safe paths and views of the St. Lawrence River, between city and nature.

The route first follows the La Riveraine bike path, with views of the river and its islands. It then moves away to cross the farmlands of the Montérégie region on roads with shoulders, requiring a little more vigilance, but still with a very moderate gradient.
