The oldest church in the Montreal diocese and the third oldest in the province, the Église de la Purification-de-la-Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie is undoubtedly a jewel of Repentigny and Quebec heritage. With its fieldstone walls (some dating back to 1723), high altar signed by artist Philippe Liébert, sanctuary lamp by Laurent Amyot, troubadour-style Way of the Cross, Utrecht School paintings and charming adjacent cemetery, its historical, religious and artistic value is indisputable. Come and take a peek through this veritable window on time, and explore over 350 years of Repentigny history on our free, animated guided tours.
