The Esplanade Place Ville Marie provides a striking view of the main gates of McGill University and of Mount Royal. Lined with modern buildings, the McGill College Avenue’s wide sidewalks accommodate throngs of locals and visitors who enjoy outdoor cafés. In front of the blue-tinted, glass towers (BNP Tower and Laurentian Bank Tower at 1981 McGill College Avenue) lies the sculpture entitled The Illuminated Crowd, by Raymond Mason.
