Once an elegant residential avenue, now a busy commercial street, Du Parc Avenue became home to the Greek community, its restaurants and pastry shops, in the 1950s. Alongside Du Parc Avenue lies Jeanne-Mance Park, named in honour of the founder of Montréal’s first hospital. The park, originally a racetrack until 1820, has always been a great location for different leisure, sporting and cultural activities. Just across from Jeanne-Mance Park, Mount-Royal Park is the site of tam-tam concerts every Sunday in the summertime.
